Daily itinerary

Upon your arrival in Egypt, your incredible local guide will greet you and take you to our hotel, where you can drop your bags, freshen up, and meet your fellow travellers.

In the afternoon, we’ll kick off the tour by exploring Old Cairo and the 600-year-old Khan Khalli Market before devouring Egypt’s national dish, Koshari.

Meals:

Dinner

With an expert guide, we’ll explore the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, marvelling at these ancient wonders' incredible scale and architectural genius.

In the afternoon, we’ll head to a beautiful date field for our Wild Women Moment, a 10-course farm-to-table lunch created in partnership with a local women’s NGO. You’ll savour traditional Egyptian dishes made with seasonal ingredients that celebrate the land and the women who cultivate it.

Meals:

Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Swap the chaos of Cairo for the silence of the desert. We’ll use 4x4 vehicles to venture deep into the dunes, stopping at the White Desert home to surreal, chalky white rock formations shaped like mushrooms, animals, and more.

On to the Black Desert, where dark volcanic rocks contrast sharply with the rugged landscape. As the sun sets, we’ll enjoy a traditional BBQ and camp beneath a sky full of stars.

Meals:

Breakfast, lunch & dinner

After watching the sunrise and enjoying breakfast, we’ll try our hand at sandboarding before making our way back through the desert and continuing on to Cairo to catch our overnight train to Aswan.

Meals:

Breakfast, lunch & dinner

After arriving in Aswan on our overnight train, we’ll freshen up at our accommodation, one of the few women-owned guesthouses in the Nubian Village.

Next, we’ll enjoy a unique lunch spot with views over the breathtaking Philae Temple, before exploring this stunning island temple, celebrated for its beauty and serene setting.

Later, we’ll return to the Nubian Village, home to an Indigenous community with deep roots in southern Egypt and northern Sudan, known for their distinctive language, customs, and rich cultural heritage. There’ll also be time to explore the market and do some shopping!

Meals:

Breakfast, lunch & dinner

It’s an early start for a guided tour of Abu Simbel, a 13th-century BC temple home to magnificent 20-metre (66-foot) statues of Ramses and his wife, intricate hieroglyphics, and ancient tombs.

Afterwards, we’ll return to Aswan and board our floating home for the night, a traditional felucca boat. As we sail along the Nile, we'll share an Egyptian feast and settle in for the most unforgettable group sleepover on the water.

Meals:

Breakfast, lunch & dinner

We’ll enjoy a slow morning onboard with a hearty breakfast as we continue our scenic journey along the Nile.

After lunch, we’ll make our way to Luxor, a city steeped in history and home to magnificent ancient temples.

Meals:

Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Whether you chose a lie-in or a sunrise hot air balloon ride (additional cost), the day is yours to shape. Maybe you’ll head out to explore Karnak Temple, Egypt's largest temple complex. Or perhaps you’d rather unwind with a few peaceful hours by the pool.

In the late afternoon, we’ll come together again to experience the magic of Luxor Temple at sunset. Set right in the heart of the city, its atmosphere is unlike anywhere else.

Optional: Sunrise hot air balloon (additional $80 approx.)

Meals:

Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Today we’ll visit The Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs, queens, and high priests of Ancient Egypt were buried. It will blow your mind! The tombs are still adorned with hieroglyphics that are so well-preserved they boast vibrant blues, reds, and yellows.

Before driving to Hurghada, we’ll visit one final temple of the trip, Hatshepsut’s Temple, dedicated to one of ancient Egypt’s few female pharaohs, celebrated for her ambitious building projects and her efforts to establish authority in a male-dominated dynasty.

Meals:

Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Egypt’s Red Sea offers diverse marine life, stunning coral reefs, and unbelievable visibility. We’ll board a yacht for an epic day of discovering idyllic islands and snorkelling.

After a fun day in the sun, we’ll remenisce and say goodbye over our farewell dinner!

It’s time to say goodbye to your awesome tour guide, fellow travellers turned new friends, and the wonderful country of Egypt.

Omar

Omar is an Egyptian adventurer and founder of Egypt's first adventure travel company, which has been operating since 2009. He’s visited over 70 countries and was part of the first Egyptian team to kayak the length of the River Nile in Egypt — 1500km in 43 days! When he’s not running tours, you’ll find him hiking somewhere in the mountains, surfing or kayaking.

Lunch in a date field Egypt

10-course farm-to-table lunch

Under the shade of date palms, we’ll savour a carefully crafted 10-course lunch prepared by Nawaya Rural Women, a local NGO dedicated to preserving the traditions of the Egyptian rural kitchen. Through their community kitchen, Nawaya works with farmers and rural women to pass down generations of culinary knowledge, using seasonal ingredients grown in the very soil beneath our feet.

What travelers are saying

From walking the Great Pyramids, to 4x4s in the White Desert, to a felucca ride on the Nile, to snorkeling in the Red Sea and (almost) everything in between - this trip had it ALL. Kate, Omar, all of the new friendships formed, & Egyptian hospitality made this adventure an 11/10 experience that I can’t stop talking about.

Frequently asked questions

The trip kicks off in Cairo, where you can choose to fly into either Cairo International Airport or Sphinx International Airport.

To save an unnecessary journey back to Cairo, we’ll end the trip in Hurghada, where you can fly out of Hurghada International Airport. Flight prices are usually the same, if not cheaper.

Need a hand with your flights? We’re experts at finding cheap flight deals!

Most travellers, including those from the U.S., Canada, EU countries, Australia, the UK, and others, can obtain a 30-day tourist visa upon arrival at Egyptian airports. The fee is typically $25 USD.

Alternatively, Egypt offers an online e-visa system for tourists from eligible countries. The single-entry visa is valid for three months from the issue date and allows a 30-day stay. Apply at the official Egypt e-Visa portal.

We always recommend checking your home country's government website for up-to-date and essential travel advice, including passport and visa information.

All meals are included in the trip price.

Given our guests' varying arrival and departure times, we include only dinner on the arrival day and only breakfast on the day of departure.

We make every effort to accommodate dietary requirements, including vegetarian and vegan options. Please inform us of any food restrictions or special dietary needs when booking so we can plan accordingly.

We include airport transfers in the trip price to keep things stress-free: pick-up (the day before or on the trip start date) and drop-off on departure day.

While most expenses in Egypt are covered in the trip price, there are a few exclusions, including:

  • International flights to and from Egypt
  • Visa fees
  • Personal travel insurance (mandatory)
  • Any optional activities (Karnak Temple and hot air balloon)
  • Any meals not listed in the itinerary
