Let the road trip begin! We’ll journey north to Etosha National Park, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations, stopping along the way for a roadside lunch and plenty of opportunities to take in Namibia’s changing landscapes.
Tonight, we’ll camp inside the national park, giving us the chance to experience the magic of Etosha after dark. Once we’ve set up camp, we’ll head to a nearby waterhole and keep our eyes peeled for any animals coming for a drink.
For those who want to continue the adventure, there’s also the option to join a night safari and discover the incredible creatures that emerge once the sun goes down.
Optional activity: Night safari (approx. £30)

Day 4: Full-day safari in Etosha National Park
The early bird catches the worm, so we’ll rise before sunrise and head out in our safari vehicle for a full day of wildlife spotting in Etosha National Park. Home to elephants, lions, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, and huge herds of antelope, Etosha offers some of the best game viewing in Namibia.
Between unforgettable animal encounters, we’ll take in the park’s unique landscapes before ending the day back at camp, helping our guide prepare a well-earned feast under the stars.
Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 5: Travel to Damaraland via Etosha
We’ll continue our road trip through Namibia, taking a scenic route through Etosha as we make our way to Damaraland. This means even more chances to spot wildlife before the landscape transforms into the dramatic, otherworldly scenery this region is known for.
While it’s a longer travel day, the ever-changing views, incredible wildlife, and vast desert landscapes will make the journey just as memorable as the destination.
Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 6: Hike in Damarland & chilled afternoon
Today is all about slowing down, recharging, and soaking up the surroundings. We’ll stay at a campsite with access to a nearby lodge, complete with a swimming pool and a resident elephant named Jumbo, who occasionally wanders through for a surprise visit.
For those who want to stretch their legs, we’ll take a gentle morning walk through the surrounding semi-arid landscape, followed by a relaxed afternoon to unwind.
Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 7: San village tour & sunset in Spitzkoppe
It’s time to continue our road trip through Namibia as we make our way to Spitzkoppe, one of the country’s most breathtaking landscapes. Along the way, we’ll stop at a San Village to learn about the culture, traditions, and way of life of one of the world’s oldest continuous cultures, with ancestral roots in southern Africa stretching back over 150,000 years.
After this meaningful cultural experience, we’ll continue to Spitzkoppe, where we’ll set up camp and watch the sunset paint the sky over the incredible granite peaks and desert scenery that make this place so special.
Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 8: Hiking in Spitzkoppe & Genocide Museum
Spitzkoppe is home to some of Namibia’s most incredible rock formations, so we’ll start the day with a 2-3 hour hike up one of its peaks. The climb may be steep in places, but the views across this unique desert landscape make every step worth it.
In the afternoon, we’ll continue to Swakopmund and visit the Genocide Museum. While this is a difficult chapter in Namibia’s history, learning about it is an important part of understanding the country and its people.

It’s the perfect chance to slow down, enjoy the coastal scenery, and make the most of this unique seaside town.

Over the 5–6 hour drive, we’ll watch the landscapes transform from rugged desert scenery to vast open plains, with plenty of incredible views along the way.

Meet your guide

Taimi
Taimi started her journey as a guide running city tours in Windhoek before following her passion to lead adventures across the whole of Namibia. It’s hard to find someone who loves their job quite as much as Taimi does, and her enthusiasm for sharing her country is truly infectious.
A big foodie, she’ll also be treating you to some incredible campsite meals throughout the trip, always served with her beaming smile.
Wild women moment

Jewellery-making class with repurposed materials
Penduka is a women-led social enterprise based in Katutura Township that empowers women in Namibia’s marginalised communities by creating opportunities, developing skills, and promoting creativity. During our visit, we’ll enjoy a home-cooked lunch with the women and take part in a jewellery-making workshop, creating unique pieces using recycled and repurposed materials while supporting their inspiring work.
What travelers are saying
Frequently asked questions
Will there be a lot of driving?
Think of this trip as a true road trip adventure. Part of the magic of exploring Namibia is the journey itself – watching the landscapes transform as we drive through vast deserts, rugged mountains, and endless open plains.
We’ll make plenty of stops along the way to break up the drives, but it’s important to expect some longer travel days, with several days involving around 4–6 hours on the road.
Will we be camping for the whole trip?
Namibia has a huge camping culture, and we believe it’s one of the best ways to truly experience the country.
Don’t worry about bringing your own gear; all camping equipment will be provided, including your tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping mat.
We’ll spend six of the eleven nights camping, with comfortable hotel stays at the beginning, middle, and end of the trip to give you a chance to rest and have a good shower.
What will the campsites be like?
All campsites have access to showers and bathroom facilities, although the level of comfort and facilities varies between locations.
Camping in Spitzkoppe is a more rustic experience, closer to wild camping, but you’ll still have access to a drop toilet and the opportunity to shower.
What meals are included?
All meals are included in the trip price.
Given our guests' varying arrival and departure times, we include only dinner on the arrival day and only breakfast on the day of departure.
What will the food be like?
As we’ll be camping for the majority of the trip, most of our meals will be prepared together at the campsites, led by our tour guide and camp chef. Get ready to be involved, whether that’s helping with a little chopping, stirring, or washing up after a delicious meal.
We always do our best to accommodate dietary requirements, including vegetarian and vegan options. However, it’s important to keep in mind that Namibian cuisine is traditionally very meat-focused, and while travelling through remote areas, the availability and variety of alternative meals may be more limited due to local resources and accessibility.
Please let us know your dietary requirements in advance so we can plan ahead and make sure you’re well looked after throughout the adventure.
Do I need a visa for Namibia?
Most countries, including citizens from the UK, US, EU, Canada and Australia, require a visa to visit Namibia. You can check whether you need a visa here.
A 90-day tourist visa costs N$1,600 (approximately £75) and can be obtained either by applying online for an e-visa or on arrival in Namibia.
Will I be picked up from the airport?
We want our trips to be as stress-free as possible. Both airport pick-up and drop-off are included in the trip price.
What airport do I need to fly in and out of?
The trip kicks off and ends in Windhoek, where you’ll be picked up and dropped off at Hosea Kutako International Airport.
Need a hand with your flights? We’re experts at finding cheap flight deals!
What’s not included?
While most expenses in Namibia are covered in the trip price, there are a few exclusions, including:
- International flights to and from Namibia
- Personal travel insurance (mandatory)
- Tips
- Extra snacks and drinks
- Lunch on day 9 is not included as this is a free day, and may be included in your optional activity should you choose to do one.
